Facebook Matters: Here’s Why

Today, over at Gigaom, they posted their regular “What’s Worth Reading” blog.
This is always particularly gratifying on a Friday because:
a. It’s almost always just what it advertises – stuff worth reading.
b. It’s oftentimes very relevant to our business and, thus, worth reading for business and pleasure.
So it’s that beautiful work/play combo, in essence.
Today, it led with some news. Facebook is at 175 million regular users.
We’ll write that again. 175 MILLION REGULAR USERS.
Seriously, that’s a lot of eyes. And that’s one of the reasons we’re so excited about the platform.
We’ve had some success in the past with their advertising and expect to have more.
More than that, however, we expect there will be additional positive benefits from their offering, including, but not limited to the fan pages along with more interesting ways to take advantage of their treasure trove of information. We look forward to knowing what’s next, quickly learning now to use it and then passing those skills on to our clients.
